The original members of this group met in another Meetup group but branched off to focus on our primary desire of participating in horse related recreational opportunities.
We're a group consisting of adult horse owners and enthusiasts who meetup to pleasure ride, attend a horse event or maybe enjoy a movie or some other activity – always with a horse theme! The primary purpose of this Meetup is to enable our members to meet other horse enthusiasts, ride together and share information. We also keep a calendar of events to provide fun or educational event information to our membership, but also to create visibility and generate support for existing horse oriented organizations.
Unlike riding clubs, we don’t charge dues, we don’t sponsor events, we don’t have officers and we hold very few non-horse (business) related meetings. The organizer of this Meetup is the primary administrator of the website and takes the lead on member communication. The assistant organizers do a variety of tasks, but their main objective is to schedule rides! And members, well, we hope all of you will get out and ride with us!
This group does not charge any member dues... but it does cost to run the site. If you would like to pitch in a couple bucks a year as a donation toward the website fees... we won't turn down your money!!
Looking for a recreational horse group to have fun with? Then we welcome you and your horse!
***This meetup group does NOT carry liability insurance. You are personally liable for any damages or injuries that are caused by your horse or self at a meetup. Most homeowner's policies protect you in the event that Flicka clobbers someone! We suggest talking with your insurance agent about your coverage. Unfortunately... most people don't ask until it is too late!*** 5 Important Questions to Ask Your Agent 1.) Does my homeowners insurance cover the liability of my horse hurting someone? 2.) Does that insurance coverage apply if the horse is NOT ON MY PROPERTY? 3.) What is the total $$ amount of coverage I have (may want to pay a little extra to up this)? 4.) Are there any restrictions to my policy that I should be aware of? 5.) What if someone ELSE is riding my horse and something happens? Am I covered if I am not in control of the horse?
